Meet the ReStore’s electrical and lighting guru Mr. Larry Baker

Laryy Habitat Volunteer ReStore

Why volunteer at Habitat? Larry loves that it gives him a reason to get up every day and do good for others.  He encourages everyone to get up, get out and give back to the community. What do you like about volunteering at the ReStore? Larry says it is the fun volunteers and staff that he loves the most about volunteering with Bend Habitat.  The most rewarding part of volunteering for Larry is when he is able to teach new volunteers how to process and sell the donated merchandise.  Then to see them working independently with the new skills he has taught them. Larry and his lovely wife moved to Bend from California about 4 years ago.  They have 4 children, 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  They love to go on vacations and to visit their family.  Larry loves that his wife drives and he gets to be the navigator reading the maps and using the AAA guide.  When they aren’t traveling, Larry enjoys working in his shop, building whatever his wife would like him to build. Of course, he loves sorting and packing merchandise for the ReStore.  The next time you are in the store pop over to the electrical department and you will find Larry there to answer any of your questions. Thank you Larry for all your hard work dedication and the sheer joy that you bring to Habitat![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]]]>
