Ready to create? Here’s how (choose one, two or all three!)

1. The Upcycle Pop Up Art Show – First Friday, April 3rd

Design upcycled wall art for our First Friday POP UP exhibit at The Commons Café & Taproom. We’ll serve up the cold beer and live music. You bring the inspiration!

  • Only a limited number of pieces can be accommodated (art selected by Event Committee)
  • Art can be up to 3’x3′ in size, must hang on a wall
  • Create your piece from at least 90% recycled, reused, found, leftover, and/or trash materials
  • Retain ownership of your art after the show (or donate it ReStore to raise funds for Habitat)
  • Final art is due 9 am, March 31st @ ReStore of Bend
Apply to Participate
2. The FLIP! – The Upcycle Festival, April 4th @ReStore of Bend

This year, The FLIP! is transforming into an open showcase of functional art of all types (furniture, tools, containers, lighting, or any aesthetic object that serves a utilitarian purpose).

  • Get $25 to spend at Bend ReStore
  • Create your functional art piece from at least 90% recycled, reused, found, leftover, and/or trash materials
  • We’ll stage your piece inside ReStore for festival attendees to enjoy
  • All FLIP! art will compete for awards
  • All art donated to Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity
  • Selected stand-out weatherproof pieces will join ReStore’s traveling art exhibit at Bend locations during Earth Month, including an Artist Reception at Worthy Brewing on April 18th and The Environmental Center’s Earth Day celebration April 25th
  • Final art is due 9am, April 4th @ ReStore of Bend
Apply to Participate
3. Trashformations – The Upcycle Festival, April 4th @ReStore of Bend

A beloved annual Bend tradition (formerly at Pakit), Trashformations is a one day onsite conceptual incident and art construction event. Test your spontaneous creativity, apply your basic hands-on art construction skills, support affordable housing, keep unwanted castoffs out of the landfill, AND spend the time communing with other equally daring artists.

  • The Challenge: Create a finished piece of art working with items found at ReStore
  • Artists and artist teams assemble at ReStore on the morning of April 4 to claim a provided working space, mine treasures on-site, and create their masterpieces from 10 am to 4 pm
  • Participants provide their own tools and are welcome to bring trash-treasures to use and share
  • All art donated to Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity
Apply to Participate

THANK YOU for helping us make the Upcycle Festival a creative community event!
