Meet our Experience Works Volunteers

Experience Works Volunteers Dick & Paula

Dick Keeble and Paula Farr are 2 wonderful volunteers that spend a good part of their time volunteering for Bend Habitat as a part of the Experience Works training program. Experience Works is a work training program for people 55 and older. It helps non-profits like Habitat with the extra needed staff and helps the participants get ready to enter the work force. Over the years Bend Habitat has hosted many Experience Works volunteers and has been successful in helping them find good employment.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Dick Keeble has been here at Bend Habitat for 4 years helping with cashiering, customer service, training of new volunteer cashiers and much more. His background in customer service and bar management has given him a wealth of people skills and the ability to be an efficient multi- tasker. Dick loves all the different people he has met through his volunteer service here at Bend Habitat and enjoys working with a large variety of staff and volunteers. He thinks it is a great place to work. It is a fun environment and he has learned so much in his 4 years here. Dick likes being a part of Habitat because it is a great cause especially since affordable housing is such a huge need here in Central Oregon. Dick is hoping to find a job working in customer service or back managing or tending a bar. When Dick is not at the ReStore he loves to spend time with his grandkids, to get out and do some hunting and fishing. Thank you Dick for all your hard work, dedication and support over the last few years, your help is invaluable to the ReStore and Habitat. You are a ROCK STAR!!!![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Paula Farr has been helping us at Bend Habitat for about a year now. She started as the administrative assistant to the office staff helping in the office with a variety of tasks. With the new expansion of the ReStore we were in need of more customer service help so Paula agreed to switch gears and is now helping at the ReStore. She is quickly learning how to handle the phones, returns and customer questions. Paula worked at a veterinary clinic as a receptionist but spent almost as much time in the back helping with the animals. While there she learned to work with a wide variety of people which has prepared her to help with the customers at the ReStore. She enjoys customer service and is hoping to find a job in that field. She loves using her time in a positive way to make a difference in the Habitat families’ lives and enjoys meeting all the different volunteers, staff and customers. When she is not helping customers at the ReStore, Paula loves walking her dog Missy and being outside. She is handy at doing all kinds of craft projects from the treasures she finds at local thrift stores. Paula we are so blessed to have you on our team. Thank you for your continued flexibility and support. You are greatly appreciated.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]]]>
